Essential adventure tour it’s one of the most complete adventures that we have, a 100% full experiences with a combination of fire and water running over three volcanoes and pedaling surrounding the north pacific coast.

Every dirt gravel backroads and stops are planned exactly to offer you the best experience one each town. You will have the experience of pedaling around a Volcano lake, enjoy thermals hot springs, visit a Volcano National Park, cross 21 rivers, visit each beautiful beach at the north pacific area, see the amazing sea turtles nesting area, pedal over the beach, freedom and much, much more. ITINERARY

The following is a general outline for the Essential Adventure Tour. Costa Rica Ride Green Adventures reserves the right to make alterations and substitutions to the itinerary as weather or terrain conditions dictate or as necessary to improve the tour quality or to accommodate the comfort, convenience, and well being to our riders.

DAY 1-Airport Pick-Up

Our Costa Rica Ride Green Adventures guide will meet you at the airport and transfer driving three hours to the hotel at La Fortuna in Arenal; we will have our bikes set up and relax to be prepare for the next day trip. Dinner will be part of the night.

DAY 2-Arenal

After a good Costa Rican breakfast at the hotel we will start our adventure from the Lake Arenal damn area, the main attraction is that we must pedal surrounding Lake Arenal all the way to our next stop at Tronadora in Puerto San Luis, this is part of Tilarán area. Your experience will be pedaling over a main forest just next to the lake all the way crossing rivers and enjoying the peaceful scenario view. Nothing like the lake as a kick off to clean your soul and mind. At town, we will stay at the local Brewery hotel and why not, try some that night to celebrate our first successful day. A full dinner will be included it. Distance 40 km aprox.

DAY 3-Tenorio

This day we will have a short transfer to Tierras Morenas town, at the place you will have the experience of looking the Tenorio Volcano getting together with the Miravalles Volcano, an electric Eolic project will be part of the scenario, pedaling at the Tenorio foothills going down the hill first we will finish with a punchy climb right to the Rio Perdido Thermal Hot Springs paradise, ready to enjoy, relax your feet and body, nothing like closing the day with the best threat. A full dinner will be included it. Distance 35 km aprox.

DAY 4-Rincón de la Vieja

After our powerful typical breakfast and a short transfer to the foothills of Miravalles Volcano we will start our todays adventure pedaling at the foothills of the Rincon de La Vieja Volcano, a very famous route for mountain bike that you can enjoy, watching the diversity of the forest it is just a magic moment where your soul and mind will thank you for this experience. We will finish at Rancho Curubandé Lodge, where we can enjoy the place on the Rincon de La Vieja National Park. We will spend the rest of the day relaxing and sharing with all the good of the day, a full dinner will be included it. Distance 40 km aprox.

DAY 5-Junquillal

After a good Costa Rican breakfast at the lodge we will start our shuttle avoiding the most pavement day of the trip for a while, so we will start at Playa Potrero, on the way you will start getting the experience of a different scenario getting deep into the tropical dry forest of Guanacaste. Passing over some rural towns our destination will be first spot to enjoy our sunset at Junquillal. It’ is a quiet and serene environment with a three-kilometer beach strip that is unlike any other on the Guanacaste Gold Coast. Backed by lovely grasslands, the beach here is mostly empty with just a few hotels and restaurants. Our spot will be Mundo Milo Eco Lodge, dinner included it. Distance 40 km aprox.

DAY 6-Nosara

After a good Costa Rican breakfast at the lodge we will continue our adventure surrounding the Pacific Coast passing thru many main betufiul beaches including the famous Ostional as the sea turtles nesting area finishing in the beautiful Playa Nosara. The sounds of the jungle with also the opportunity to stop and watch the surfers riding waves at Playa Guiones will make this place a perfect spot to stay and relax for the rest of the day. A full dinner will be included it. Distance 40 km aprox.

Waking up with the jungle sounds and after a good Costa Rican breakfast at the lodge we will continuing living the place crossing over more famous beaches in Costa Rica like Playa Garza, Samara, Carrillo, Punta Islita to stop at the paradisiac place of Playa Bejuco. With most of its surrounding area relatively undeveloped which include its abundance of wildlife and impressive natural landscape. The brown sand beach stretches for miles and you may not see another person for an entire day making the perfect spot to enjoy a laid-back on a secluded beach. A full dinner will be included it. Distance 50 km aprox.

Now we get to our last track and the most excitement since we are going pass Playa Coyote, also crossing the Bongo river and pretty much riding over the sandy beach for a 2-mile track getting to the main and beautiful town of Mal País. We will stay at Playa Carmen Hotel that will offer the most spectacular spot at town, just to relax and have fun at night to celebrate a spectacular trip all the way Costa Rica, a lot of pictures to share, a lot of moments and memories to tell everyone, this is the spot for the best closing. Distance 45 km aprox.

Check out early leaving paradise to driving thru the Ferry and back to the Airport.
